This year, we are fortunate to have received an early announcement from the Fair Work Commission regarding their decision on the annual Minimum Wage Review. This early insight will allow businesses to better forecast their wage costs for the next twelve months and make more informed decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Announcement:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We share important updates recently announced by the Fair Work Commission that will directly impact your workforce. Starting from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2024, significant changes are coming:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Weekly Rate:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThe new national minimum wage will be\u00a0$915.90 per week, providing a substantial\u00a0$33.10 weekly increase.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hourly Rate:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nCasual employees will now earn\u00a0$30.125 per hour.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Why This Matters:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost of Living Relief:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nWe understand the financial pressures faced by workers across the state. These adjustments aim to alleviate some of those challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wages Growth:<\/strong><br \/>\nDespite recent fluctuations, this increase aligns with forecasted wages growth across the economy.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Superannuation Boost:<\/strong><br \/>\nRemember that the superannuation guarantee contribution amount will rise to\u00a011.5%\u00a0from 1 July 2024 and continues to increase annually until it reaches 12% on 1 July 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<table width=\"542\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"270\"><strong>Income year<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"270\"><strong>SG rate<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2023-24<\/td>\n<td>11%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2024-25<\/td>\n<td>11.5%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>2025-26 and onwards<\/td>\n<td>12%<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Payroll Tax Free Threshold Increase:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sro.vic.gov.au\/payroll-tax\">From 1 July 2024, the payroll tax free threshold will be lifted from $700,000 to $900,000 for annual returns, and from $58,333 to $75,000 for monthly returns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible employers now have greater flexibility in managing their payroll tax obligations.
